Stay in the heart of athens

Luxury city center furnished apartments

Elaia Athens Boutique Hotel is a neoclassical building from the 1950’s. The space was the home of Maria & Miltiadis Katsos from the 1950s to 1990s. The building was then renovated, creating one more floor with the instalment of a modern metallic frame, uniting the neoclassical exterior with a modernised interior. This creation became a home to an interior design office who was based at Dipylou 8 from 2004 to 2015. In 2021 the building was once again renovated to enter the hospitality sector. From a home to an office, in 2023 Elaia Athens Boutique Hotel was created, becoming the home for anyone who wants to stay and live the Athenian Hospitality.

Elaia Athens Boutique Hotel chose this building for both its location and its history! Located in dipylou street, The Dipylon was the main gate in the city wall of Classical Athens. Located in the modern suburb of Kerameikos, it led to the namesake ancient cemetery, and to the roads connecting Athens with the rest of Greece.

Its name Elaia, the olive tree, was the gift of goddess Athena to the Athenians who had the city named after her. The team gave life to the Olive Tree, which gives life to our Boutique Hotel through the unique paintings of a bright Greek painter Neoklis Arapoglou.

Extraordinary Accommodations

Choose Your Room Type

Following the beautiful tree of Elaia each room is a piece that consists the Olive Tree.

Starting from the ground floor, Gea. The name Gea is a girl’s name meaning earth. Is where the Olive Tree feeds, grows and soils the earth to give its fruits.

Climbing up the metallic staircase on the first floor we meet the first part of our Olive tree, Kormos. The Olive tree trunk sets up an entrance, or flanks a border quite like a nobly, gnarled, & wonderfully unordinary olive tree.

Right next to Kormos is the next part of the tree, that grows tall across the corridor, Kladi. The olive branch is a sign of peace, and when made into a wreath it is a trophy for victorious Olympic athletes.

Moving to the attic which is sunbathed by the beautiful front windows we first see Fyllo. It is the leaf of the Olive tree known for the different colours that it takes depending on the sunlight. thick, leathery, and lance shaped, The leaves are oppositely arranged with a bright green color at the top and dark green at the lower branches, where in the sunlight it has a silvery shine.

Last but not least we find Karpos! A beautiful double room that can accommodate two couples or a family of four in two different spaces. Its name was inspired by the fruits that the Olive tree provides as with. Karpos being the top part and the end product of an olive tree the fruit is pressed for its golden oil which is consumed raw or cooked and is a staple of Mediterranean cuisine.
